ca.1923/1924, original design for a Fiat advertising racing poster, oil on wood, Carlo Salamano on Fiat 805 at a pit stop, Italian Grand Prix 1923, Salamano won ahead of his team colleague Nazzaro and Murphy on Miller. Plinio Codognato (1878-1940) was one of the best Italian graphic artists of the 20th century. He designed around 150 posters for commercial products, theaters and sporting events. Codognato made a name for himself with many spectacular automobile designs and is best known for his work for Fiat, Ansaldo, Pirelli, Cinzano and Campari as well as for his posters for car races. Among other things, he designed the posters for the Klausen Race in 1927 and the Italian Grand Prix in 1934...Museum quality
