Milan, October 1937, hand-drawn, framed certificate from the Alfa Romeo racing and testing department, with signatures of all employees. This certificate, signed by 37 employees, was given to Vittorio Jano when he left the company in 1937 after a dispute with company director Ugo Gobbato. The certificate contains the following text:"The managers and workers of the Alfa Romeo testing departmentexpress their sincere gratitude to their esteemed Technical Director, Commendatore Vittorio Jano,their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation.In honorable memory of the man who was a role model, teacher and mentor to them over many years,they combine these words with their best wishes for his future.Among the 37 signatures, the following have immortalized themselves: Anselmo Oggini, Dante Mattei (jointly responsible for the tuning of the Lancia D24 / D25 engines), Vittorio Gazzera, Aldo Longoni, Carlo Lala, Angelo Inzaghi etc.After his time at Alfa Romeo, Vittorio Jano became Technical Director at Lancia and designed the successful D24 and D50 racing cars. With Alfa Romeo and Scuderia Ferrari he won numerous Grand Prix and the Mille Miglia 1930.
