Avus 1959, set of 7 original b/w photos, spectacular accident involving Hans Herrmann in a BRM, spectators at the last Formula 1 race on the Avus in Berlin experienced a true miracle on August 2, 1959. Hans Herrmann hit the brakes in his "British Racing Motors" car, or B.R.M. for short, at a speed of 280 km/h. He sped off into the void. He crashed into rain-soaked straw bales before the south bend, the car overturned, Herrmann was thrown out in a high arc - and only suffered minor injuries. Afterwards, a photo of the injured racing driver appeared in the press, sitting stunned on the ground. It earned him the nickname "Hans in Luck". Photos mostly signed by hand, various formats
